Virtual classes

Our free online classes are led by one of our many expert coaches. A ShapeUp4Life course takes place over 12 weeks.

There is no waiting list. 

 

You can join at any time.

Choose the option that’s right for you

With ShapeUp4Life Online you can join in from the privacy and flexibility of their own home. You’ll still get virtual support from the group-leader and your classmates.

 

A Microsoft Teams or Zoom link will be sent before each class so you can join online. We will help you set this up.

How do I book my sessions?

Join today to find a class that suits you and book straight away. You can see the type of sessions we have available on the timetable. But that’s just a taster of what we have. There are plenty more times to suit you. Once you’ve joined, we’ll help you find a class that’s right for you.

 

Before you start the sessions, everyone gets a 30-minute phone chat. We’ll cover what you want to get out of the course, your needs and set some achievable goals.

How do the classes work?

Whatever your goal: to lose weight to enjoy more time with your family, become more independent or do more activities that you enjoy. Our team understands any health conditions you have and will tailor sessions to suit you.

Each session is an hour and a half, and will include:

  • 45 minutes focusing on food and eating. You’ll learn how to adopt eating habits for weight loss. But in a way that means you can still enjoy your food and that fits in with your everyday life.
  • 45 minutes of fun, easy exercises. You’ll just need to wear comfortable clothes, and a little floor space. You don’t need any extra equipment.

Everyone knows that it’s not always easy to stick to your goals. Our experts will work with you to set realistic, enjoyable activity plans.

Is it safe for me to exercise?

Even if you’re living with a health condition, it can still be safe to be more active. Your expert coach will go at a pace that feels good for you. They will make sure that you feel comfortable with every exercise and can personalise them to your needs, for example seated exercises if you find it hard to stand up.

Do I need to turn my camera on during the online classes?

You don’t have to turn on your camera, but it can be helpful. It can help the group feel more connected. Plus, your coach will be able to check how you are getting on with the exercises and give you tailored advice.

What is the closed group option?

We want to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible. So, we have groups available for:

  • men only
  • women only
  • certain cultures and religions.

 

When you speak to your coach during your 30-minute chat, let them know if you would prefer a closed group.
